Every year Teamware Group puts on a training event called the Expert Seminar. This year's event took place in the Beaumont Conference Center,Old Windsor, United Kingdom, 13th-15th June. (SEE PICTURES FROM THE SEMINAR.) The seminar was open to all TCEs (Teamware Certified Engineers), experienced Teamware Office administrators, technical service and support staff and consultants involved in the installation, configuration and maintenance of a Teamware Office site.
33 delegates from ten different countries attended the strictly technical 3-day seminar, which concentrated upon the new features of Teamware Office 5.4 and Web service customization, analyzing tools, security and performance issues as well as Teamware Office - Pl@za integration. In addition to the presentations, Teamware development and technical support staff gave various "hands-on" workshops, which allowed the delegates to learn and test the materials covered.
New TCEs graduated
During the Expert Seminar the delegates had an opportunity to take a TCE examination, which formally tests an individual's ability to install, configure, administer, trouble-shoot and integrate applications with Teamware products; thereby providing consultants, technical support and development personnel with an individual measure of achievement.
By passing this examination a person becomes a TCE, Teamware Certified Engineer. In this year's seminar the following candidates became TCEs by passing the TCE examination:
Wim Mintiens from Prodata systems, Belgium
Keith Tabone from MITTS Ltd, Malta
Gordon Will from Dundee City Council, United Kingdom
The following TCEs updated their certification to Teamware Office version 5.4 level:
Kenneth Bowman from ICL Malta Ltd, Malta
Ralf Wieler from RW Consult DV Beratung, Germany
Mia Salwey from Swedish Labour Market Board (AMS), Sweden
Ingvar Jungenäs and Jonas Israelsson from Teamware Group, Sweden.
Congratulations to all!
Soldiers (?) in the forest
After the official program the delegates had an opportunity to participate a paint ball event held in a forest near Reading. Dressed like soldiers in a battle the Teamware Experts disappeared in the woods and after one and a half hours some 300 paint balls had been fired...
For more training related information see www.teamware.com/training/. Please note that if a workshop title bears the "TCE" tag this means that there is a Teamware Certified Engineer examination available based on that workshop.
