BARCELONA, Spain (BrainShare® Europe) – Sept. 12, 2005 – Teamware today unveiled how it is helping customers extend their investment in Novell’s GroupWise to support smartphone devices. This is in response to customer demand as the proliferation of smartphones continues to grow at a dramatic rate in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Between Q1 2004 and Q1 2005 devices running the Symbian operating system grew by 180%. With the recent release of Novell’s GroupWise 7, customers can continue to count on its industry leading security and reliability, providing this support to mobile users, through its partnership with Teamware, and the co-developed Teamware Mobile for Novell GroupWise solution.
GroupWise customers have the opportunity to obtain initial Teamware Mobile licenses for free when upgrading GroupWise to version 7. Nominated Novell partners may also deploy the installation of the Teamware Mobile application. The partners can include additional services as well as server hardware and mobile devices in their offering. The campaign starts immediately and is valid until December 15, 2005.
'We at Teamware are very pleased with the development of our strategic partnership with Novell which was announced at BrainShare in September last year. Together we cater to the growing mobile collaboration needs of the extensive GroupWise customer base in Europe. Teamware Mobile for Novell GroupWise is the only Linux based solution for mobile GroupWise access. The product is YES certified with GroupWise and SUSE LINUX, which in itself ensures that Teamware Mobile meets the strictest of standards. Furthermore, Teamware Mobile is the only mobile collaboration product on Novell's pricelist - this is widely recognized by Novell partners and end customers,' stated Olli E. Juvonen, President and CEO of Teamware Group.
'With the launch of both GroupWise 7.0 and Teamware Mobile 2.2, Teamware provides GroupWise clients with technology that offers enterprise-wide compatibility, accelerated work efficiency, and increased performance. Thanks to our partnership, and the standards-based solution, customers get more out of their GroupWise investments', concluded Mr. Juvonen.
