The Dutch Royal Institute of Engineers (KIvI) has chosen Teamware Group, a Fujitsu subsidiary, to construct its interactive web site. Previously, also the associations of engineers in Finland and Sweden have selected Teamware to implement their web solutions. These innovative sites, which are based on the Pl@za platform, will include interactive services designed to improve communications between the association and its members.
With 16,000 members, of which 1.500 are students, KIvI is the largest association of academic engineers in the Netherlands. To continue providing its members with new and quality services KIvI has chosen to make its old site interactive, using the Teamware Pl@za platform. It also aims to give members an opportunity to update their own information over the Internet.
Members should get the feeling that they are part of a wider KIvI community to which they can make their own contributions and set up discussion platforms for hot items.
One of the reasons why KIvI opted for Teamware Group is because the product contains a number of pre-defined components that are easy to integrate in a homespun web solution. Not only that, but Teamware was able to provide a number of glowing references in the association market.
"We are highly honoured that KIvI has chosen Teamware Pl@za. We are convinced that Teamware Pl@za will offer added value to its members. Teamware has gained some valuable experience in this branch as it's not the first time an engineering association has made use of our applications. This may have strengthened KIvI's confidence in Teamware", said , Business Manager Teamware Group Netherlands.
Teamware Pl@za is a set of ready-made Internet services integrated into a Java based platform. It enables the rapid implementation and easy maintenance of interactive Web sites for a wide range of Web community applications.
