PRESS RELEASE  April 6

Teamware goes mobile
Active e-mail, calendar and intranet services to mobile phones

Teamware Group has launched a new service, Teamware Mobile™. It frees mobile workers from the desktop by offering secure wireless access to enterprise information systems independent of time and place. Active e-mail and calendar services are automatically available via the mobile phone. Thanks to the continuous GPRS service, the connection is fast and cost-efficient. Teamware Mobile is available for Teamware Office, Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange, and other major messaging systems. The product will be shipping in June.

Teamware Mobile provides users with e-mail and calendar on the go, efficient mail filtering, automatic calendar synchronization, and secure access to business critical information and applications.

Teamware Mobile delivers e-mails automatically to the mobile phone and alerts the user instantly upon receipt of a new e-mail. If required, incoming mail can be filtered so that only selected messages are delivered to the mobile phone, for example, according to given sender or subject.

Teamware Mobile keeps the user's calendar up to date at all times. It actively synchronizes the data between the desktop and mobile calendars. Users are also provided with listings of any new or modified calendar entries.

'We launched Teamware Mobile at CeBIT in March. Customers were very excited about the rich functionality our new service provides. They also considered Teamware Mobile far more advanced than other similar products in the market,' explains Jukka Paananen, Vice President of Business Development at Teamware. 'Our service takes care of everything for the user: all needed applications start automatically when the phone is switched on. This makes it very simple to use the service. Organizations clearly have a need to expand their current collaboration systems and to utilize them to their full extent. We at Teamware can support groupware users in mobilizing their systems for the future', describes Mr. Paananen.

Secure access to the intranet

Teamware Mobile enables a secure and reliable connection to business critical information and applications. Easy-to-use tools make corporate intranet content accessible to the mobile phone. Selected data, for example from enterprise CRM or SAP systems and vertical applications, will automatically be adapted so that the user can sensibly access and interact with the systems via a mobile device. In addition, the mobile browser gives access to content on the public Internet.

Teamware Mobile uses GPRS wireless connection for transferring data. This technology offers efficiency and speed for out-of-the-office work. Cost savings are significant, as users no longer need to rely on expensive GSM data or SMS connections for sending and receiving messaging data. The Teamware Mobile service is designed for smartphones using the Symbian operating system, e.g. Series 60 devices. However, basic mail reading and sending requires only an IMAP capable mail client, and basic calendar synchronization is possible also with mobile devices supporting SyncML capable calendars.
