PRESS RELEASE  July 5, 2004

Improved suite of collaborative applications
Teamware Group announces Teamware Office 6.1

Teamware Group, leading provider of software and services for interactive communication and collaboration solutions, announces the availability of the new version of Teamware Office, a complete, modular set of collaborative applications. Teamware Office version 6.1 introduces new features and enhancements in security, effective use of information and integration capability.

Security enhancements
Teamware Office has a proven track record as a secure groupware environment, and customers especially appreciate the virus resiliency and secure mail features. Still, the new version includes two major improvements in virus protection and Internet connections.

The new Anti-virus Connector supports the Symantec virus engine on Solaris, Windows, and Linux as well as the F-Secure virus engine on the Linux platform. Virus checks are performed on data transferred through MIME Gateway, X.400 Gateway, NNTP service and Teamware Office WebService. Also outgoing email messages can now be checked.

Secure connection over the Internet, using SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4 over SSL, encrypts data communication between the server and clients. SSL connections support SSL3, and can be used also with the Teamware Office WebService browser interface.

Effective use of information
A large number of the improvements in the Teamware Office Windows clients and WebService are based on customer feedback that is extensively used to guide product development.

Offline use has been enhanced with two new features; offline mail search and a new offline calendar viewer. Messages downloaded to offline folders can now be searched. The Offline Calendar allows the user to search and download selected personal, group or resource calendars and view them in offline mode.

WebService users welcome useful new features: sending copied mail; downloading mail messages, header information and attachments as a unit; autoforward mail settings, ‘defer until time’ settings for messages; and viewing attachments in a separate browser window. New preference settings and icons improve the user experience for Windows users.

'The theme of effective use of information covers a large number of enhancements that help the end users in their daily work. These enhancements improve usability and enable the users to process information more productively,' explains Eija Suikola, Product Manager in Teamware Group.

Integration capabilities
The third major area of improvements in Teamware Office 6.1 is integration capabilities. 'The Teamware Office 6.1 SyncML module enables integration with the new Teamware Mobile service,' describes Eija Suikola. 'This integration offers active mobile access to Teamware Mail and Calendar services.'

Teamware Office 6.1 for Linux includes an LDAP API enabling integration with and authentication against an external LDAP directory. Furthermore, Teamware Office 6.1 includes an XML API for XML-based application development and integration. XML-formed requests are processed by the Teamware Office WebService. In addition to the above, Teamware Link Calendar API has also been improved. There is also a new connector product, Connector for Mail Archive, which enables integration with 3rd party mail archiving systems.

Teamware Office contains everything needed for efficient collaboration and communication: secure e-mail, document management, enterprise-wide discussion forums and information distribution, personal time management and shared resource booking. Teamware Office runs in standard environments supporting Windows, Solaris and Linux platforms.
