Teamware announces Teamware Office version 7.3

PRESS RELEASE  29 May, 2008

Extended free text search and improvements for administration

Teamware Group announces the new version of their collaborative application suite - Teamware Office version 7.3 - for Windows, Solaris and Linux server platforms. The new version extends the free text search to Teamware Library document archive and the email users can use the free text search in the web browser interface as well.

Teamware Office version 7.3 continues the customer-driven development emphasizing the efficient use of information, flexible user experience, security and effective administration. "The Free Text Search feature introduced in the previous Teamware Office version has been extended to cover Teamware Library document archive in addition to the mailboxes," Maria Aarneva, the product director in Teamware Group explains. "Indexing and search principles are the same in Mail and Library clients but the new version of the Search Server includes protocol enhancements and gives improved performance as well," she adds.

The Teamware Office 7.3 WebService is enhanced with the email free text search capability, new shortcuts for regularly used functions and page numbers and navigation buttons for handling long lists of emails or documents.

Teamware Office 7.3 is well suited for secure mail, sending and receiving signed and encrypted email. The new version adds support for the updated DigiSign for VRK card reader software and improves the OCSP server capabilities. The workstation notifier for new email and calendar appointments now first checks the logged-in user before sending out the popup in order to ensure that the notifications are delivered to their targeted recipients.

For the administration of the system, Teamware Office 7.3 introduces the automatic clean-up service for old spam mail and the ability to run system maintenance routines without service breaks. In addition to the mailbox restore function, the individual user calendars can be restored from the backups as well if accidentially erased. With Teamware Office 7.3 the Teamware Statistics package is revised and provides a graphical view to the system behaviour and user activity levels.

Teamware Office 7.3 Windows user interface supports Windows XP and Vista. The clients are integrated with Microsoft Office 2007 productivity tools. Teamware Office 7.3 Edition 1 is immediately available for Windows and Solaris platforms and the Linux server version will be available by the end of June 2008.
