Teamware today announced Teamware Mobile for GroupWise has received the Novell YES CERTIFIED compatibility designation with SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 and GroupWise 6.5. Teamware Mobile is a unique solution for efficient information and time management supporting mobile usage any time and anywhere. Through the YES CERTIFIED Program, Novell assures clients that third-party products are compatible with Novell products.
Teamware Mobile provides secure and immediate access to e-mail, calendar and enterprise systems. It supports all major groupware environments. The sales of Teamware Mobile have been growing very fast since the product was launched this autumn. There are now more than 100 GroupWise and Teamware Office client sites where Teamware Mobile will soon have been installed. The first Microsoft Exchange implementations will start early in 2005, and Lotus Notes support is also forthcoming in February.
'Achieving the Novell YES CERTIFIED designation lets clients know that we have worked with Novell to help ensure that Teamware Mobile meets the strictest of standards, maximizing resource availability,' said Rauno Toivonen, President & CEO of Teamware Group. 'With this certification, clients using Novell and Teamware technology can depend on enterprise-wide compatibility, accelerated work efficiency, and increased performance.'
'Teamware and Novell working together are leaders in delivering Linux based solutions that clients can feel confident in implementing to support their business - from the enterprise to small and medium-size businesses,' said Richard Seibt, President for Novell EMEA. 'We are very pleased with the value we are able to provide our clients by leveraging Linux in general and SUSE LINUX in particular as well as catering to the needs of our GroupWise clients. Our own sales and channel partners all over Europe are extremely excited about this opportunity.'
During the past year, more than 12 million Symbian based phones have entered the market. This has brought about a heightened demand for mobile applications regarding e.g. e-mail and calendar via mobile devices. According to research company Yankee Group, the majority of enterprise mobile workforce has an inherent requirement for wireless access to e-mail.
Teamware Mobile for GroupWise is now available from Novell and Novell's business partners and extends the benefits of the existing GroupWise system to support a wide range of mobile workers. Automatic synchronization of e-mail and calendar ensures users have constant access to the latest information. This means faster response times and efficient decision-making.
