Offline messages to Teamware Mail Archive

Teamware Office 7.4 provides the possibility to archive all email in the centralized Arhive Server. The previously user-maintained offline mailboxes can be collected from the workstations to the archive too.

Offline mailboxes stored on workstations or file servers can cause a lot of extra work for administration. End users lose valuable work hours in storing their old messages to offline. Finding the right messages from the offline mailbox can be cumbersome.

Now there is a solution to these problems: Offline mailboxes can be archived to Teamware Mail Archive. When Teamware Mail Archive is installed and operational, all sent and received messages are automatically archived. Separate tools exist to archive old messages from the mail server database and now also from offline mailboxes.

When offline messages have been archived it is possible to get rid of the distributed offline mailboxes. End users will have all their old messages in one place easily accessible using a powerful free text search. Administration becomes much easier when all messages are in the centralized Mail Archive.

Offline mailboxes are archived using a command prompt tool on a mail server. The archiving tool reads offline mail data format and converts it to the format required by the Teamware Mail Archive. The archiving tool checks for duplicates and passes offline messages to the archive queue which archives the messages in the same way as online messages. The messages are indexed for searching at the same time.
