Widian Mobile 3.0 To Be Announced in April 2010
Widian Mobile 3.0 – the long-expected new version by the mobile email and calendar users - introduces the new server platform and wider support for the latest mobile devices. The new version will be announced in April at Teamware Expert Days in Helsinki, Finland.

The Mobile 3.0 server is based on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server version 11 (SLES 11) and adapts well to the virtualized system platforms. The supported groupware systems include Teamware Office 8.0 and Novell GroupWise 8.0.
The mobile phone applications Mail and Assistant support the functionality of the latest Symbian Series 60 models. The installation and configuration can be managed remotely using advanced mobile device management. The Windows Mobile and the Android devices are also supported, using Synthesis SyncML client for the calendar and contact synchronization.
- Improved email handling with the latest Nokia N and E Series mobile phones
- SyncML 1.1 ja 1.2 protocols fully supported (Nokia S60 Ed3 FP2 phones require a firmware update)
- New client applications are adapted to touch screens and other new user interface features in S60 phones
- Client applications can be managed and configured remotely using SyncShield mobile device management
The new version of Teamware Office 8.0 and Widian Mobile 3.0 introduce also the user password synchronization between the groupware and the mobile system, removing the password conflicts. The user password in the Mobile server is changed automatically when the password is changed in Teamware Office. This is a simple alternative to the more advanced and secure directory integration.
Teamware provides a wide range of services for fast update process, including pre-installation, system upgrade in virtualized environment, SLES Upgrade Protection, server hardware pre-installed and SyncShield mobile device management.
Teamware Mobile customers will benefit from the upgrade to Widian Mobile 3.0 as the server environment is modernized and the users have wider and improved mobile device support.
