Coming Soon: Teamware Office 8.0

The final month of the Teamware Office 8.0 project has just started. The public launch of the new version will take place at a Finnish customer event Teamware Expert Days in the last week of April.

We are happy to say that the project has proceeded according to the planned schedule. This project has had some unique features unlike previous Teamware Office projects. We produced an early beta prototype of one of the main features in this release and distributed to a number of selected customers for piloting. The HTML message viewing feature was piloted by a dozen customers. The feedback by the pilot users was positive. We thank everyone who participated in the pilot and thus helped us to develop the feature.

As promised, a Teamware gift was drawn among those product pilot users. The prize goes to Mr. Raimo Havia. Congratulations!

Teamware Office 8.0 concentrates on client features that enhance the end user productivity and user experience. In addition to the HTML message viewing this version includes such new features as the indicators of mail folders that contain unread messages, the server filter management in the Mail client, and the calendar and appointment URLs. New WebService features include the appointment search from resource calendars and the navigation from one message directly to the next.

The new Integration Kit version offers support to Microsoft Office 2010 applications and introduces an Outlook plug-in to import and export appointments between Teamware Office and Outlook Calendars.

It is also worth mentioning that Teamware Office 8.0 and the new Teamware Connection for SharePoint product together enable integration of Teamware Office and Microsoft SharePoint Server systems.
