Teamware Office New Version Preview

Teamware Office 7.4 will be launched in May 2009, with completely new Mail Archiving and newly designed Web Calendar, highlighted in this preview article.

Teamware Office version 7.4 will be released in May, 2009. This exciting version introduces completely new functionalities and enhancements that offer both an individual user and the entire organization new possibilities in making work and communication easier. In this article we’ll have a sneak preview of some of the new features.

Mail archiving not only stores all messages for as many years as needed but also extends a user’s mailbox by offering more storage space and an easy way to find archived messages. Archived messages are stored on a dedicated archive server but accessed through the familiar Teamware Mail client. A powerful search function finds messages both from the online mailbox and the mail archive. Users no longer have the problem of deciding which messages to keep and which to delete as a mailbox size limit does not affect the archived messages. Administration can now easily offer efficient online mail servers and unlimited storage space to users.

The screen capture below illustrates the revised search dialog that covers both online and archive searches and an example of search results with archived messages.

There is a new Task service in Teamware Office WebService for managing tasks. The Task service allows users to create both personal tasks and tasks assigned to other users. Task assignees respond by replying to task items. The Task service is a good tool for coordinating shared tasks. Assignment progress can be easily followed up.

The following screen capture shows part of the Top page WebService users see after login. A new section has been added for new tasks.

WebService Calendar has new direct manipulation views that offer enhanced usability. Appointments can be created by highlighting the desired time from the calendar grid and respectively modified by dragging and dropping an appointment to a new date and time. Pop-up menus make it easier to manage appointments.
