Teamware Office Feature Survey 2009 Results

The most wanted new features to the next versions of Teamware Office got their votes in June from Teamware customers. A number of the proposed features has been selected as candidates for the next version.

In June Teamware Office Up-to-Date customers had once again opportunity to vote for the most wanted new features to the next versions of Teamware Office. We received votes for about 30 features covering mostly the clients and WebService. Thank you to all those who responded.

We have now analysed the results and picked a number of the proposed features as candidates for the next version to be published in Spring 2010. One of these features is viewing HTML messages. With this new feature incoming HTML messages are displayed in the message window text field for reading. Another candidate feature would introduce a new distribution list type to Personal Address Book. This would be a simple list of email addresses that can easily be shared between users.

Other features currently under investigation include listing all recipients in the message read window, setting time limits to autoreply messages, and changes to permissions to modify calendar appointments.

There were also a small number of requested features that are, in fact, already in the product.
One of these items requested means to mark a user account hidden in the Organizational Directory. A feature to achieve this is available for administrators. It simply needs to be activated. Section Hiding users in the Administrator’s Guide (p. 167) gives directions how to do it.

Another request was for browsing message recipients in alphabetic order. The default is to list recipients in the order the sender typed them. But there is an option in user preferences to enable sorting. To enable alphabetic sorting of recipients go to Option menu, Mail Preferences dialog, Send page and activate the Sort recipients check box.

One of the items complained about each message being opened in a separate window in WebService Mail. This is not normal behaviour. By default a message is opened in the same read window replacing previously opened content. It is recommended to check the browser options as they may interfere with application preferences.

As usual the respondents participated in a raffle for a Teamware gift. This time the lucky winner is Petri Viljanen of Lähivakuutus. Congratulations! We would once again like to thank all those customers who participated in this year’s feature vote.
