The Teamware Office Statistics
package has been developed using different public domain tools. The package
is installed and configured for each customer environment as consulting work.
The package contains html
pages, Java graphics applets, awk and shell scripts and scheduler files.
Teamware will set up
and configure the package for the customer environment. Administrators will
receive a brief introduction and documentation describing the package and how it
can be configured and administered.
It is possible to get usage
and user related information from Teamware Office. Based on the information
administrators are able to monitor user activity and even charge according to
the usage. All necessary information regarding different activities, such as
received and sent mail items, is stored in Teamware Office log files. By manipulating
and utilizing the information stored in the log files it is possible to get
details on system usage even to an individual user level.
By means of the Statistics
package administrators are easily able to get valuable information about Teamware
Office usage. Based on that information it is possible to improve the usage
and administration of the system. The statistics package continuously analyses audit.log
and billing.log files and produces user and usage information. As a result statistics
information is generated which includes for example:
- users logged in (idle
and active)
- received and sent mail
(divided into local and transfer/X.400/MIME/Fax/SMS messages)
- processor load (Solaris
only, also multiprocessor servers)
- individual mailbox statistics:
used kb, number of folders, biggest mail item etc.
