Mail Storage Prepared for HTML Message View in Teamware Office version 8.0 - Nov 2009

Teamware Office version 8.0 - to be released in the first half of 2010 - will introduce the Mail client supporting the direct HTML message view, among other new features.

HTML view 1  HTML view 2

To be able to use this feature you must have the setting store_alternate_flags turned on in both the MIME connector and the MSA to save the "multipart/alternative" header information of HTML mails. This setting is supported starting from the version 7.3. You should make this change well before the new version Teamware Office 8.0 is rolled out in order to have new received messages stored with the extra header information.

Teamware Office 7.4 Fix for Looping Group Mails - Nov 2009

There is problem handling sets of objects in Teamware Office 7.4 edition 1a. Sending a message could cause eternal loop if the mail is sent to a group that has another group as member, and that other group has again the first group as a member. This has also other occurrences e.g. in Forum service.

Fix is available for the server components todc.dll (libtodc.so), which you must replace with Windows/Solaris. In Linux 7.4 version the patch is already included. Teamware support agreement customers can download the fix from the

Teamware Support Database (requires user id and password).

Nokia E75 and other FP2 phones - Sep 2009

There have been lots of synchronization problems with E75, appointments rejected and not sychronized. Nokia E75 latest tests show that calendar sync is finally working little better with firmware revision 110.48.125.

Nokia has confirmed there there is a bug still in SyncML. A fix has been promised by week 42/2009. Currently the schedule for fix is still open.

Note that upgrading phone firmware is not enough, because phone sync database is probably messed up. You have to do factory reset (*#7370#).

Teamware Office Directory in Windows Server 2009 Environment - June 2009

The new Teamware Office 7.4 server is supported in MS Windows Server 2008 platform. Windows Server 2008 requires some changes in the configuration that has to be planned before the upgrade or a fresh installation. The i500/LDAP directory included in Teamware Office server is not compatible with Windows Server 2008 and that service needs to be removed from the server system or to be replaced by a third party directory solution.

The typical Teamware Office Single Site installation is fully functional without i500 service and the service can be removed. The Enterprise level multi-site systems the central directory is required. The recommended solution is to integrate Teamware Office directory with the existing MS Active Directory when available.

The removal of i500 in a Single Site system has the following effects on the directory functionality
  • The external LDAP directory access from Teamware Office is unaffected.
  • The LDAP access from outside Teamware Office to the Teamware Office directory is not functional without a replacement directory
  • When two-way LDAP access is required (from outside/inside Teamware Office) the replacement directory solution (for example MS ADLDS (Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services) can be installed in the same server hardware as Teamware Office server.
