Teamware Group arranged a web survey, Teamware Office Consultative Voting, in early June 2003. All Teamware Office Up-to-Date customers were invited to vote for the five most important requirements for the Teamware Office development and to send free-form requirements not on the list. There were more than 30 responses to the survey and the results give Teamware Group and Fujitsu a good indication on where to put effort in the future Teamware Office releases.
The Top 6 features voted (out of 34 candidate features)
- Better spam filtering in Mail
- Calendar booking modifications by all permitted users, not just the owner, in order to avoid situations where one user makes a booking and no other user can modify it
- Single sign-on using strong identification, PKI (smart cards and SW certificates) for both native and web client
- Bring Linux version functionality to the level of Solaris and Windows versions
- Improvements to current mail filters, e.g. to find messages according to a part of a mail address, domain or text in subject, to delete messages, to sort messages to folders according to the sender
6. Possibility to create autoreply messages in WebService Mail
Teamware Group will now adjust the development plans according to the priorities set by this consultative voting. The coming releases of Teamware Office will gradually introduce new features and we ensure that the results of this survey are taken into account. There were also approximately 60 free form enhancement requests and we will further inspect the possibility to include these into Teamware Office development.
This consultative voting was met with enthusiasm and Teamware Group is planning on continuing these web surveys in the future too.
