The new Teamware Office PDA Tools 1.1 CD contains two Calendar sychronization tools: a revised version of Teamware Calendar Sync for PocketPC and a completely new Teamware Calendar Sync for Nokia 9210(i). These are desktop tools that offer cable connected synchronization between calendar software on a mobile device and Teamware Office 6.0 ed 1 or ed 2 Calendar.
Teamware Calendar Sync for PocketPC is completely renewed. It is now more robust and includes new features. This tool supports two-way synchronization of new, modified and deleted appointments. Single, overnight and recurring appointments can be synchronized. The user can define the synchronization range.
The user will need MS ActiveSync on the PC to which Teamware Calendar Sync for PocketPC is installed. Devices with PocketPC 2002 or 2003 are supported (e.g. iPaq or Fujitsu PocketLoox).
Synchronization is easy for users. All you need to do is to insert the PDA device to a cradle that is connected to a PC. Synchronization will start automatically. If the synchronization tool discovers conflicts, the user will be asked to indicate the desired action. Conflicts can happen if the same appointment has been modified or deleted in both the device calendar and Teamware Calendar. When the synchronization has been completed all you need to do is to remove the PDA device from the cradle.
Teamware Calendar Sync for Nokia 9210(i) is a new product. It requires the Nokia PCSuite on the PC to which the synchronization tool is installed. Teamware Calendar Sync for Nokia 9210(i) supports two-way synchronization of new, modified and deleted appointments. Single, overnight and recurring appointments can be synchronized. The user can define the synchronization range. User preferences include options for conflict management. Conflict management can be manual, setting Teamware Calendar as the master calendar that overwrites changes in the device or vice versa.
A two-way synchronization is performed after the user has connected the mobile phone to the PC and initiated the synchronization from the Teamware synchronization tool. In case conflicts are detected, conflict management is performed according to the user-selected setting. And when the synchronization is completed, all you need to do is remove the mobile phone from the cable.
