Automatic email retrieval and calendar synchronization
Teamware Mobile adds value to the Symbian phone messaging and synchronization software by providing automatic and convenient email retrieval and calendar synchronization. When properly set up, the mobile device will read and retrieve the back-end email messages and synchronize calendar entries, task lists and contacts without user interaction. New emails and appointments will notify the user with a popup and an alarm tone. The user doesn't need to wait for the slow server connection and data transfer at all.
Users can set automatic synchronization limits for start and end time per day according to their personal preferences. When preferred, the mobile device is silent about new email during the evening and the night time.

Managing email in mobile device
Email is commonly the main electronic communication channel and the groupware mailbox can contains hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of email messages. A large inbox can cause severe problems if fully retrieved to the mobile device. The amount of email messages can be easily controlled with the messaging software settings. In this example Nokia 9500/9300 configuration is shown.
Open Messaging and press [Menu]. Tools – Account settings – Edit the mailbox in use – Select Retrieve page:
Retrieve: Messages (or Messages and attachments)
Max. size: 64 kB (according to user choice)
Sync. emails in Inbox: 30 (example given: 30 latest messages)
Sync. emails in folders: 30
By optimizing these settings based on the user experience, the most convenient way of using mobile email can easily be selected.
Teamware Mobile email rules in managing the mobile mail
Teamware Mobile email rule options offer more flexibility in controlling the amount and type of email messages retrieved to the mobile device. Typically mail messages are filtered based on the subject information (for example opting out mail list items) and based on header size (not too wide distributions in the mobile device).
Every Teamware Mobile user has got a web interface to Personal Settings in his or her Mobile server. The Mobile Mail Rules can be managed in the address (replace the server address with a proper one):
http://server.address/personal/mail/MailFilter or https://server.address/personal/mail/MailFilter.
