Teamware Mobile Clinic
For a fresh mobile user, starting to use a new mobile device with e-mail and calendar introduces many new topics to learn. According to Teamware Mobile customer feedback users don't always have the time to learn the details of use, and many practical features are unused and even some problems go unsolved.
Teamware provides a compact training package for customers, targeted to the end-users during the roll-out phase of the Mobile system. In the Teamware Mobile Clinic a Teamware Mobile expert illustrates the use of the basic functionalities of Teamware Mobile. During the interactive session, the participants will benefit from expert assistance in using the mobile device and can solve their potentially outstanding problems. The users are also informed about the best practice of using the mobile device including the limitations of mobile use and hints for effective use.
The Mobile Clinic sessions are typically held at customer premises and last for a half or a full day. Customers and the session participants can suggest specific topics to be covered and send questions/problems in advance. The training material consists of the illustrative end user quick guide for Teamware Mobile.
Hints and Tips: Teamware Mobile password management
The essential part of the security of the Teamware Mobile solution requires that usernames and passwords for the Teamware Mobile phone-server connection and the Mobile server-backend connection are different. This chapter provides the required information and guidance for managing the passwords, especially when changing the backend password.
Teamware Mobile –username and password authenticate the user's mobile device connection to the Mobile server. Mobile login info is configured in the phone e-mail account info and in the synchronization profile (Connections). Respectively, this login info is part of the user information in the Teamware Mobile server.
Backend usernames and passwords are the same credentials as normally used when logging in from the workstation. The backend username and password are saved as the credentials in the user information in the Mobile server.
When the backend password is changed (typically via forced change according to company policy), this change needs to be done in the Teamware Mobile server as well. There are two alternative ways to change the password:
- Web interface to Personal Settings/My Info/Back-end login info tab, or
- Mobile device Teamware Manager application/Change password/Backend

Hints and Tips: Status of automatic mail retrieval and calendar synchronization
In the mobile environment, a reliable GPRS and 3G connection is required for smooth operation. In practice, the weak coverage areas can prevent the connection occasionally. It is also possible that the mobile device TWMail and TWAssistant applications are not functioning automatically due to the configuration settings. When in doubt, it is easy to check whether mail is retrieved automatically and the calendar synchronized regularly.
TWMail application provides the status information in the opening screen: the latest refresh time and the timestamp of the most recent e-mail message. The Sync log in the Sync profile informs about the latest time and the status of the synchronization.

Hints and Tips: Forwarding large attachments with web mail
Due to the limitation of mobile device e-mail clients, forwarding attachments requires that the file is retrieved to the mobile device and resent again. When the attachment size is big, this could take tens of minutes and use up the connection quota. The more practical and easy way is to forward these kind of e-mail messages using Teamware Mobile web mail. The attachment is forwarded directly from the server mailbox storage.
Teamware Mobile version 2.2 includes the web interface for e-mail, calendar and address book, optimized for mobile devices. The web interface is used with the mobile device web browser, and the login username and password are identical to those used in Teamware Mobile.
The web interface address is typically: https://mobile-server-address/office (please check from your system administrator).
