Teamware Office feature vote was organized this year for the fourth time. As in the previous votings, Up-to-Date customers were invited to tell about the enhancements they would like to see developed in the future Teamware Office versions. This time respondents could describe in their own words top one to five features they and their organizations would like to have in the future releases.
As all participants did not submit the maximum five items and some enhancements were mentioned repeatedly the vote produced 35 enhancement requests. Two of them (free text search and signature file on server) are already on the roadmap for v 7.2 (in the year 2007). Some of the proposed features are, in fact, already in the product. These are covered in the Hints and Tips for Teamware Office Users in this Webzine.
This time the majority of the proposed enhancements are features for end users. Previously administration or system level enhancements were more popular. Mail gets somewhat more requests than other services reflecting the fact that it is used by more users than the other services. However, Calendar, Library and Forum did appear on several of the proposed enhancements as well.
We have now selected 14 of the items as candidates for v 7.2. These items will be studied in more detail to determine whether they could be implemented in addition to those features that we have already committed to in the roadmap. The studies will take some weeks. We hope to be able to fix the feature content of v 7.2 release in the early autumn. We will keep you informed on the progress with v 7.2 in the later issues of Webzine.
As usual we draw a raffle among those respondents who have given their contact information. The raffle winner receives a Teamware gift, this year a nice picnic rucksack. The lucky winner is Petri Viljanen from Lähivakuutus in Finland. Congratulations!
A new Teamware Office feature vote will take place next year. Before that we will conduct a similar feature vote for Teamware Mobile customers. This will take place in August or September 2006.
